Rojas Street Tacos Al Pastor — 3.3/5 ⭐ A disappointing smoke overall, although not without some redeeming qualities. Started with an extremely open draw, plenty of smoke, and an aggressive woody bitterness dominated by heavy cedar and spice. The first third was particularly unpleasant, with bitterness lingering on the back of the tongue. Things improved considerably as the cigar progressed, developing a softer, creamy sweetness with hints of caramel and more restrained cedar and spice. Unfortunately, the flavors remained fairly mild and unremarkable, with little complexity and a persistent bitter woody finish. Construction was another disappointment. The draw was almost too effortless, and deeper draws seemed to exaggerate the bitterness. Slowing down improved the flavors but resulted in the cigar going out repeatedly, requiring multiple relights. Ultimately more work than it was worth. Not a terrible cigar, and the middle portion was certainly enjoyable enough, but it lacked the balance, richness and effortless smoking experience I've enjoyed with others. 3.3/5 — Glad I tried it, but wouldn't buy again. Great band, though!
