Cuban Montecristo vs Dominican Montecristo

Our catalog lists 22 Cuban Montecristo lines and 43 non-Cuban ones, made in Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras.

Montecristo is a Cuban marque first, launched in Havana in 1935, and the numbered Cuban Montecristos are still made by Habanos S.A.

Outside Cuba, Altadis USA makes a separate family of Montecristos for the US market. They are their own blends, not versions of the Cuban numbers.

The honest difference

As with Cohiba, the Montecristos in a US shop are not Cuban, and the Cuban ones cannot legally be sold in the US. If you are comparing the two, compare a size you can find on both sides and judge each on its own terms.
